Hi!

I´m Kristina from Spain and I will go to Australia in October. Is Queensland a good place for KIte? I would like to know which ones are the spots of Queensland, and the conditions of wind!

Hi Kristina,

QLD wind season is usually Sept - Mar, of which we have NE & SE Seabreezes between 15-20kts, usually consistent 3-4+ times per week.

Last season was very poor wind consistency due to La Nina, wind only once per week. Hoping for a good season for 2012.

Spots: Sandgate Beach, Brighton, Wellington Point, Redcliffe - search online & these forums.

Plenty of spots out there, you also have mackay Townsville and cairns

Downwinder on the Sunshine Coast if you like waves and miles of ocean to yourself

Hervey Bay and Elliott Heads near Bundaberg can be good if you like flat water. Many tourists head to Fraser Island which is accessed through Hervey Bay.

If you want real wind Kristina, head to the west coast...

October will be pumping in Perth 9m and 7m for you would be the kites to bring.

12pm 15-18knots
2pm 18-22
4pm 23+ up to 30 on a good day.

Ok, you're just trying to rub our east coast faces in it aren't you! Local QLD forecast last week had predictions of 20-25 SE's. Here in Hervey Bay we managed a measley 9-13 :(
On the up side, the weather is glorious.
