Hi all, hope everyone is well and getting good winds. I am going to be living between Cabarita, Nth NSA and spending time out on South Straddie. Ride strapless in small waves and weigh about 70kgs...Really new to the area and just getting my gear back together and will only have a one kite quiver. Hoping for a Nth Neo or similar. Wondering what kite size is recommended for the coming summer season?8 or 9 m likely be the go? But just wanted any advice as I am not familar with the weather in the area.
I only ride a 10m here, 85kgs, foil from 12kts, strapless from 16kts+, TT from 22kts Prob go the 9m if no foil, just need that bit extra for ocean currents
As others point out winds are lighter here. Northerlies are steady and southerlies can be brutally gusty. Surf always has a 2-3 knot northerly sweep. Im 100kg and i ride 10m and 12 m switchblade on a 142 twintip. Youll want lots of trim on your bar for southerlies and be prepared to ride a bigger board and throw your kite around the sky on lighter days. Stay away from incoming tide at creek mouths until you understand conditions as tides can rip in at 4 or more knots. Enjoy!!
