Westerly winds

Can anybody tell me where to kite in westerly winds. Is shearwater/loders still suitable? I know this is offshore wind but still would like to get on the water in these conditions.

Check out seqka.com This is the south east queensland kite association site . You will find a section labled "Locations"

The only place to kite in a westerly is at "The Red Barge"

You need to be experienced and have the correct tide.

Otherwisw beg a boat ride up to The Pin.

wellington point is ok in sw winds, just make sure you dont launch from above the high tide mark
