gday all

where do foilers kite (flat water) on the gold coast?

the alley is apparently a no-go area

but shearwater esplanade was mentioned as a spot foilers seem to gather

are there other spots on the broadwater?

looks a bit shallow off shearwater esplanade, with a lot of boat traffic

i don't know the area

hope to get the good oil from locals

thanks

Hi kiter dad,

I foil at shear water all the time, it's pretty much the only spot just need to know where the sand banks are.

Scott.

There are 2 main areas that most people kite on the Broadwater. 1st option is Shearwater Espl Runaway Bay. Good in most conditions and does have a bit of boat traffic. Great in southerlies and ok in Northerlies. Plenty of beach area to rig up. 2nd area is known as KFC located at Marine Pde Labrador. Limited area to rig up at high tides and rocks are in play. Bit muddy especially at low tide. KFC is good in the northerlies and ok in the southerlies.

Scotty's advice is spot on.........

He's the only one that foils in flat water around here,,,seems to have that thing pretty well dialed too

hey thanks for the replies

depending on conditions, i'll be at shearwater or palm beach

i'll have my LF foil and cabrinha skillet, with either a 10m neo or the mighty zephyr

see you on the water

thanks again :)
