I have some airmiles burning a hole in my pocket, so am looking to go to Cairns (Yorkeys Knob) in late August, probably for 3 - 4 days.

Anyone interested in coming along, or sharing accommodation/car there?

I've never been there, but I hear it is pretty good.

A few people have read this post, but no-one seems to be interested in joining me. It would be useful for me to know why.

You don't know who I am, so am not sure if I am an axe murderer looking for some new victims?
Everyone knows Cairns is rubbish that time of year?
A long weekend is too short?
A long weekend is too long?
Some other reason?

Regards,
Thomas

OK I will give you an answer why eight of us wont be going

Because we will be in fiji for 10 days about then
$458 return flights
$20 a night accom incl. breaky

And you can see the bottom through the clean water and there are no ankle biters

flat water, waves, fiji friendly culture
$2.58895 beers
$3.45122 bourbon's
and don't forget as much karva as you want

Had a look at that trip, but can't get 10 days off work, and can't use airmile to Fiji. Maybe next year.

Hope you have a blast, with plenty of wind.

the last couple of days has been smokin over there on the webcams.
Could've had a session before breaky and another later in the day

I'am sure you find some local crew up there.
all reports are to head further north though

we have had a very poor season up here. you would be better of going on one of these trips. you will be pretty much garunteed 20-30knots the whole time. have been on two of these trips and thats what we got. www.australiankitesurfari.com.au/

I am curious about this part of australia
It's one thing to have lots of wind but do you feel safe when you fall off and have to body drag?

Or do you tend to not put your self in that situation?
