Hi,

I´m from Germany - sorry for my poor English - and I´m new here.
I´m going to visit WA from the beginning of October to the middle of December, coming and leaving from Perth. I want to kite surf the westcost from Gnaraloo to Margaret River. I prefer riding in the waves but I think every day in the water is a good day.
Though it´s my first time in Australia I would be happy to get some tipps or help. I already spoke to some guys who did the same and each of them was stoked about surfing, camping and travelling there.
First of all I´m looking for a car to stay in, e.g. a campervan or a station wagon. Renting for such a long period is so expensive so may be anybody has a cheaper option for me.
I´d also like to meet some kitemates who are in the area at the same time.
So I´m really curious to visit your famous country.
Thank you for any help.
See you on the water.

Hi arnie

For kiting you are coming to the right place. I only
Just started kiting at the end of last season but am pretty efficient staying upwind now and just about ready to jump. Just a matter of the wind becoming more consistent now.

Im originally from austria so deutsch ist kein problem aber dein englisch klingt sehr gut.

I don't have a van for you but am keen to go for a kite anytime. Just hit me up when you are here.

Up for any sort of kiteing adventure...

Welcome to oz guys. please follow the local rules and keep well away from the surf life saving clubs, swimmers etc.
If you followthe rules you will be welcomed with open arms. If not FIFO.

Diginoz is right, follow the rules and be safe.

The locals are usually friendly if respect is shown although don't take too kindly to their beach access being threatened by people not following the local rules.

Any questions regarding areas to kite and regulations visit the WAKSA forum through this website and you'll find all you need to know.

Another word of advice, if you see NickT boosting at a remote 30knot reefbreak, ensure you stay upwind of him, he is known to chuck horrendous airs which often last 8-10 seconds rendering the entire area downwind of him as a danger zone.
