Hi. I stayed at Yudi's place in Lambok last year in Aug. It was late in the wind season and the trade winds were starting to die, so be weary about getting any reliable wind at the time.

Yudi is a good guy and his accommodation is good and cheap. Lot's of other outdoor things to do there, we took the ferry across to Sabang Is and did 3-4 days of incredible scuba diving. We also did some jungle walks, exploring, swimming, surfing etc.

I personally would avoid Bali - Kuta at all cost...

Was talking to mario from rip curl school of surf sanur, he assuer me the gillis (three islands just off lombok) cop alot more wind how this is possible due to proximity to bali lombok sumbawa has got me ****ed. Might be worth a look they nice islands though!?????!

theres a spot with waves near ekas too - i didn't take kites but others did and seemed to be scoring. i might have had a few sneaky runs thanks to some generous folk... nice anyhow, wind a little on the light side but steady from 10am to 5pm

head to ekas and ask around...
