Hi,im Jan from Slovenia,Europe. Im 17 years old and Im staying in Hamilton,NewCastle. I was at Nobbys a couple of times and Im searching for some buddies to go sometimes on some flat water when the wind blows in the right direction or anything fun or just some buddies taht would tell me where and when and stuff. Till now i was riding total flat water, freestyle and im getting used to waves which are quite fun but quite different, and today I drank alot more salt water than ever before. Are there any stuff that I should now about, like at Nobbys if its any suff? Can you ride at dog beach behind the surf beach at nobbys?
cheers mates

By the sounds of it all you need to do is keep your mouth shut in the surf

Do you have a car?
If not you will have to learn in the surf real quick or make some really good friends and shout lots of beer

You can ride at dog beach, but it aint going to be any good in most wind directions, plus if something goes wrong you will end up in the shipping channel.

If it is flat water you are after
You could try up in behind the break wall over at stockton it will be flatter depending on the swell, but still not considered a flat water spot.

Otherwise there is a couple of places down around swansea that will offer flat water with our sea breeze.

Also up at nelsons bay there are some flat water spots if you like a drive.

True.
Na i dont have a car. I can ride in surf by the beach between waves where i can catcj some flat water. Shouting lots of beer? Not a problem.

One question: Why is today nobody on nobbys? The irestions are right, the waves are small, the wind should be strong enough?
cheers

Doubt the wind was strong enough otherwise there would have been guys out.
Easterlys are always sh!t they just don't have enough strength

Great looking consistent graph though, just needed another 5 knots on it

Yea, I've noticed that a few times depends on what day of the week,

Nobbies can be good in a SW, pure S you get turbulence from around the surf club and cliffs and such.

You could try Dixon beach (near bar beach) in Merewether I know a few locals like to kite there in a southerly.
