G'day all,
Went to the beach with the mrs on Saturday at Rye
took the kite just incase.
anyhow a bloke sat in his car for ages (kiter)
After a fair while I decide to get mine out just for a play do some drags and have a quick go on the board as the wind wasnt ideal for my smaller kite. the gusts were good but other than that not enough.

anyhow I spend a great deal of time working out a plan of attack to setup as there were a few beach goers around and not wanting to get myself in trouble or hurt anyone. yes im not a pro but not a complet beginner.
as the tide was right out i setup on a sand bar well away from people.
had a few people ask about kiting etc had a good old friendly chat. and had a few people keen to have a go.

I spoke to the blopke who finely got out of his car to ask how big his kite was and i was looking at getting another one bigger than mine.

his was a 12m and he said he brought it about year ago and had a couple of lessons about 6 year ago and hadnt been out since.
so this bloke hasnt been out for 6 years and decides to pull it out on a half crowded day.

I said shes pretty bussy and maybe he should launch near where i was out of the way. didnt say much so I went on my way. self launched all good had a play and landed down the beach where it was empty as the mrs had the new baby and our other child. and was getting a bit warm sitting around.

never really saw the bloke get out there.
The mrs rekons she was watching him and was shaking her head.

didnt use any advice to not setup or go out and away from other people but still decide to launch. on the beach meteres from people directly down wind and got picked up and dragged. mising a tent load of people.
not the best move on his part.
lucky no one was hurt that we know of. not sure how long he hung around after we left.

Im not one for bloating or dobbing people in but this one was pretty silly IMO.
I was temped not to bother myself. but timed it right a few people had left and i was well away from others. I guess some people just dont take advice or listen.

Due to the hoards of swimmers and other beach goers over the 6 week xmas period you can give that joint a miss, west rosebud is far less crowded.
