VICTORIAN NOTICE TO MARINERS
The following Notice to Mariners is published for general information.

Date: 10 May 2010 to approximately 13 September 2010
Details: Mariners are advised of the construction of two rock groynes and beach renourishment at Altona Beach, between Romawi and Bayview Streets, groynes at approximate locations 37°52.309’S, 144°49.544’E and 37°52.338’S, 144°50.105’E
(WGS84).
All hazards to boating, including floating plant and equipment will be appropriately marked to IALA standards from sunset to sunrise.

Mariners are advised to with exercise caution when navigating within the vicinity of the works.

Looks like the area about 300-350m to both sides of the pier from those coordinates. If they reconstruct the beach to the points that they've supplied then the beach will be ~70m wide. Nice timing considering the power lines thread.

Agreed - also probably why the Council is awaiting the completion of the renourishment before erecting signposts
