I'm thinking of heading to rosebud or rye tomorrow morning, can fit one kiter with kit in my car if needed?

I'd prefer not to kite on my own, although probably will be folk down at rosey.

Hi Dan,

I might head to Rosebud early morning to be there around 7am... I can't take time off work so I need to find a convincing excuse for a few hours :)

I will let you know!

I was thinking of taking the trip down to Rosebud tomorrow but I don't know if the wind will be worth it, might just stick to Brighton if it's around 15 knots.

For me non gusty 15knots is worth the trip.
It's looking like 20ish in the morning then dropping to 15ish midday, might be a early drive.

Was a strange day down there today, started on the ozone edge in no wind stood around for a few hours, wind picked up was fine for a bit then it really started to blow so I switched to 9m Vegas, wind died as soon as I got in the water. Pulled out the 12m vegas and waited again, picked up then it was howling through then came the rain and the wind dropped again.... Feels like I spent more time setting up kites than kiting but probably got 3-4 hours on the water.

More successful than me... I didn't stay in the water for more than 10 minutes!

Not me and by the looks of the forcast kiting ain't going to happen this weekend.

I'm looking into lessons for paramotoring for these type of weekends....anyone have any experience with paramotor schools in Vic? I can't seem to find any.

I take it all back BOM was telling me porkies. i got out at brighton about 4, it was a little gusty, started on a 12 and had to pump up the 9. finally some wind this week when I could get out there.

Baywind and willy weather for me, I take an average of the two but I usually just look at my wind tree in the garden. I also check out the webcam on thezu' website to see if people are kiting at SK.

I'm yet to find a reliable forecast for rosebud.

I use kitebom.com.au and just made it appear as an app on my iphone, I used to use willy weather but I didn't find it that accurate.

Trouble is with rosebud, wether its blowing from the North or the South.... the reader is right out in the channel where the wind tunnels through.
It can be 20kn North or South and its barely blowing 10-15 at rosey or queenscliff.
Just take 5knt off the average and your good to go.... or not to go!

Yea I noticed that about the readings at rosebud, on Friday the bouy was reading 29knots and wasn't even enough to kite at rosebud and the reading is only 10k's away.

If the wind comes from NE, it doesn't pump in Rosebud. If it is pure North, South Channel is more accurate
