I would like 15 knots at Gnotuk, so what wind speed do I need to see at; the beakon, south channel, Frankston?

Google Mordialloc Yacht Club, they have a weather station.
Pretty reliable, don't bet ya last dollar on it though!

Hey mate.

Im just up the road and I always use the south channel island wind meter.

Its not always accurate close to shore, but once your out 100m or more then south channel is pretty spot on.

Remember, the readings are mostly taken from a few meters above ground, not 24m like where our kites fly.
I know for fact the Frankston meter is taken from Frankston life saving club, which is blocked by Oliver's hill in a southerly so can't read wind properly.

Deff use the south channel reading!!!

Thanks Ragzilla

Started my Christmas leave today. And there is no wind forecast until next Thursday.

Apparently I have a compulsory engagement at my in-laws next Thursday.

Also take into account that seabreezes aren't as strong the further south you go on the bay, and if its 18 knots at the beacon you have probably missed it.
