Does this make sense for a 92kg beginner with a 12 kite?

Today is the day that I start to go upwind? or at least not straight downwind!

Who ever said winters are no good for wind!

Was down at Chelsea yacht club from 1-6pm was a sick day! Perfect wind out on the 12!

i know what you mean Suniboy my body is slowly ceazing up... u know its a good winter when you only choose to go out on days that require and 8m or less just so your body can rest.

Thanks salt. Everyone else seems to go on about how I won't get out during winter unless I get a 9. But my experience is closer to what you say. I'm thinking I might need a 14 or 15 for summer to complement my 12. Unless I get made redundant this week (real possibility) then I will need to make do with the 12 that I was advised to buy.

My 12 is good in 17-22 knots but every time I go to the water we only seem to get 12 knots.

If you are in Victoria and have one kite, at 92kg that is the wrong size for you. Prevelant winds are 15-20. you should be on a 13m or 14. I would suggest a 13m.

I'm 78kg and my main kite is a 12 I reckon definitely a 14 for his main summer kite
