Learn the ****ing rules or you'll get the spot banned. I'm tired of being nice to people so ****ing catch a ****ing wake up you ****ing idiots! If you don't want to be called a douche, idiot or any other expletive, don't ****ing put the sport at risk.

If you have so much of an insecurity that you feel you want to kite near the pier to have photos taken my japanese tourists you will never see again, go see a ****ing psychiatrist or find some meaning in your miserable lives so you don't need to be a camera whore to sleep at night.

P.S. I got some really awesome photos but I only posted the crap ones up so they're useless for your egos. You'll never see the good ones.

Hey Saffer, although i am not in the photos you have posted i do kite in the corner..... have for years.... Its not an issue, and i have checked with RMYC who are happy for the small group of experienced kiters who kite and love this patch of flat water. You seem really angry? which is how i will be if your post gets out of hand and creates an issue.

ps, its about the flat water, not egos.

But i understand it only takes one accident, So please everybody stay away from my FAV kiting spot. lol...

Once the sand has shifted and settled St Kilda will hopefully have a nice Flatwater kiting area again further away from the pier.

Chill out, enjoy some chocolate and hopefully get a couple good kites in.

Good on you Saffer! This post is warranted and if anything you should have used more expletives (no sarcasm).

If anything, posts like Saffer's just prolong the inevitable in reality. Kiting will get banned in many more locations in years to come.

It was kookville down at Inverloch on Friday and Saturday. I don't have issues with beginners but the problem is that there is so many ways to **** up when you're kiting and it really is a steep learning curve even if you know the basics and can ride poostance.

Keep the bastards honest SAff!

I think I spot a Kite Republic sticker on one of those boards. May be have a word with them, they're always real helpful....

RMYC have complained before. The KBV has complained. The council has complained. Someone from the council has been down taking photos before. Standard rules about kiting less than 50m from solid objects apply in this area.

Yesterday's champs were all about photos and not about flat water. They were jumping less than 5m from the pier to show off to the cameramen, one with barely enough skills to manage a back roll properly and complete with poo stance, the same one with the helmet riding right next to the pier in the photo so in his case, he's putting the public at risk.

So why didn't you just go up to them or yell at them from the pier and be done with it?
Maybe they got into that corner by mistake due to angle of wind? Maybe they did a trick earlier that landed them too close to the pier?
Maybe they were actually trying to kite away from the corner?

Kazan, I appreciate your efforts to defuse the situation... and it's not for me to say whether they're in the right or the wrong (They're massively in the wrong), but I can't help feel if it were my elderly relative on the pier walking along, and they look up to see 12 square metres of fluro fun stuff heading for them, it could cause a slip, trip or fall that would negatively effect the rest of their lives.

I guess Saffer is rightly pointing out that the actions of a few effect a lot. It takes one small incident, one lull in the gusty-as-testicles marina to make kiting very difficult for all.
