A kite surfer got lofted at Altona today hit a sign, wall and power lines. He will be lucky to pull through. Just arrived after it happened didn't see it but a lesson for us all to learn all safety aspects of this sport.

Has anyone heard any update on how the guy is doing as it seemed as bad as it gets?

What time was it Peter? I rode past on my bike in the arvo, saw a heap of kites on the water and was thinking this season seems a bit more reasonable with new starters (though they generally come later in summer) and how thankfully nothing has happened yet... looks like I thought too soon.

To melbournekiter,
I find it interesting that you would mention Kite Republic in your post. Your comment seems to point the finger to some degree, otherwise you may not mention this school/shop. You can buy North Kites from just about anywhere. I have had the pleasure of being a part of this school with their ride days, camps and social events and have also gained my level one instructors cert with KR. Their professionalism and teaching practices are second to none with an impeccable safety record. The fact of the matter is someone's been severely injured and it is no time to point the finger at an individual or organisation especially when they pride themselves on the opposite to which you are trying to portray.
I might add by saying would you post your real name on this forum just like you have Kite Republic's. I think not. Be careful who you comment about it could turn around and bite you on the arse.

Hi.

I definitely didnt meant to point any blame at KR, definitely not.

I explained the context of my comment in the other thread.

I learned with KR myself a couple of years ago.

i'll delete my post because it's obviously saying something unintentional, and apologize as well.
