Is Balnarring better in a high tide, low tide or are both fine.

same same, its pretty deep straight off the beach for the most part.
Low can be a little better for flat water behind the reef. High occasionally has really small waves over the reef on a high high.

if its SW tomorrow I'll be heading there. Good to see westernport weather station is up and running again.

What about on a true W, any good? Or is it to sheltered from the land and get gusty?

Never kited a true W but worth a go. Had an awesome time down there once kiting with a couple of dolphins. I'm thinking of heading out about 3pm today.
