Not sure if anyone is aware of this, but the Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron (BMYS) is planning to increase their foot print and impact to the community considerably. They are planning to establish a marina with 120 berths plus 73 dry berths right between Ricketts and Mentone Beach. Follow below link for the planning details.

I'm a Beauy resident living a few hundred meters up from there and sail in Mentone, Parkdale and Ricketts quite often. Last time the epic 28th Jan SE at Mentone. I was thinking that the significant increase in traffic due to some wealthy owners of motor boats and yachts can't be good for us recreational wind sportlers. Negotiating the mussel vessels in Beaumaris Bay and the occasional jetski is bad enough, this will be far worse. Not mentioning other geological risks.
I'm keen to hear about your thoughts and if you want to voice your opinion, come to the open day on this Sunday 1st Feb 10am at the BMYS on Beach Road, opposite Cromer Road.
