Hi all , I'm an experienced kiter coming in from Brisbane this weekend and keen to try Melbourne's offerings . Staying in Sth Yarra and see a reasonable SW on Sunday . Any suggestions for a decent session would be greatly appreciated . If it's not a goer I won't bother bringing my kit

All weekend should be good. St Kilda will be packed with kiters in a SW, otherwise somewhere like Brighton could be better if it is more W.

Thanks for tip . Where I kite any wind from the west is very gusty and unreliable

or...basically all the way down from Mordialloc to Frankston.
you may want to check this out.....look for the orange shared wind sport zones

Wow , I didn't realise that there were any restrictions ! Thanks heaps for the info . As I read it , the white dotted lines are a no go also coz of the speed and distance restrictions , is that correct ?
Also , any surf , or is it all twin tip territory ?
