Northerly winds tend to be very gusty up in the North end of the bay. If you've got the time I'd recommend you drive down to Rye / Rosebud where the winds will be nice and clean.

mmmh time is not that what i have. Maybe a couple of hours in the arvo but not that much to drive around. How about St Kilda? Will it be ok or are there better places not too far from the city?

dude, look at a map, how could stkilda possibly work in a northerly!!??

if you really want to kite there in a northerly but are short on time, just throw your board off the end of the pier to drift away, cut your kite up with a bread knife or just throw it away too, give yourself ten upper-cuts and then swallow some raw sewerage. the result will be the same, and you'll save time!

a lift to rosebud may well be worth those extra couple hours.

Brighton and Hampton work but can and often are gusty as all hell. Fine for experienced but not newbie or learner friendly.

It's definitely worth the trip down to Rosebud / Rye if it's a solid forecast.
Most people rig up at the park at the end of Boneo Rd. There's public toilets and plenty of parking.
