PORT PHILLIP AND WESTERN PORT BOATING ZONE REVIEW
Parks Victoria would like to thank-you for your recent comments on the draft recommendations of boating zones for Port Phillip and Western Port.
Over 200 submissions were received during the public consultation period. These comments will be considered and Parks Victoria is improving and refining the proposed boating zones around Port Phillip and Western Port based on excellent local advice. Parks Victoria will make final recommendations to the Director of Marine Safety Victoria for approval in the near future. At the direction of Marine Safety Victoria works will begin to update buoys, piles and signage. Implementation will continue over the next two years as weather conditions, materials and contractor availability allows. You will receive updates as these steps progress.
Parks Victoria will continue regular patrolling, in partnership with Victorian Water Police and Marine Safety Victoria’s “Courtesy Rider Program”; educating users and undertaking enforcement operations in the current boating zones.
For further information please contact the Parks Victoria Information Centre on 13 1963
