Not to be pedantic but suggest that a distinction be made between this event (theCabrinha Wave Kite Surfiing Nationals) and the Australian Kite Surfing Nationals which will be run in Feb 2010 in Victoria.

Let's get it clear. There are two clearly different events.
The Robe South Australia event in October 2009 is a Wave Event.
The Victorian Event to be held in February 2010 is titled Nationals2010 and is a Freestyle Event similar to Tannum Sands [Qld] earlier this year and Elliot Heads [QLD] in 2008.
The Nationals2010 Freestyle Event is being held in conjunction with, and partly sponsored by the StKilda Festival. This is the 30th year of the StKilda Festival and typically has 250,000 to 300,000 people attending the free multi-stage music sessions and activities.
In previous years KBV has in co-operation with the StKilda Festival organizers, arranged kiting demonstrations adjacent to the Festival area and these have proved very popular with thousands watching from the shoreline or StKilda Pier.
The kiting Nationals2010 competition area is planned to be adjacent to the Festival activities.
Whilst it is early in the programming process, on the weekend prior to the Freestyle event it is also planned to have a Wave Event as part of the whole February 2010 program but it will not be held at StKilda as it is not a "wave" beach
