) of the two buoys positioned off Pt Danger (Cosie Cnr) and Yellow Bluff, used as markers for powered watercraft to stay outside of and a swim circuit for the crew training for ocean swims and recreational swimmers. The leeward side of the buoys is littered with kids, swimmers and beginner surfers and has very a dodgy windshadow in southerlies anyway.
This summer has seen the biggest beach crowds (and kiters), at Pt Danger/Cosies, that ive seen in over 25 years living here, mainly due to the ring road completion and huge population growth. There are plenty of launch/land options without putting others in danger at Danger ! especially at high tide, just ask a local for advice.
Still a great spot for a variety of winds and waves or flatwater options.
Kite safe, sail hard, keep smiling
