One of our members Hugh Bathurst, collided with another kiter in Feb 2013 which has resulted in an ongoing injury which our member is hoping to lodge an insurance claim to assist with medical expenses.
The accident occurred in the St Kilda harbor kiting area. At the time Hugh was under duress and didn?t think to get their contact details. The kiter was male , app 30 years, dark hair, 6 foot ish, solid build.
That individual needs the name of the other person involved in the collision otherwise an insurance claim can't be made.
There are two options: a) Claim thru KBV insurance (if a KBV/AKSA member), or b) other persons Home Contents policy, via public liability.
IMPORTANT:
An insurance claim will NOT be pursued unless the other party is satisfied they will not be negatively impacted in any way by either an excess or impact on future policy premiums. This would include a legal agreement stating this fact.
If you collided with, or know of someone who collided with, another kite boarder at St Kilda beach over summer please contact Hugh on 0424095545 or email him on
