We have finally confirmed the KBV competition schedule for this season and so that you can get them in your diaries here are the dates:

17,18 &19 December 2010 - Victorian State Championships in conjunction with the Sail Melbourne Regatta and SHQ, Hamton Beach Sandringham

26 January 2011 - Kite Republic Port Phillip Cup, St Kilda Beach

12 & 13 February 2011 - KiteMag St Kilda Festival Showdown, St Kilda Beach

25, 26 & 27 February 2011 - The Inaugrual Inverloch Unhooked in conjunction with Inverloch Tourism and Kite Republic, at Inverloch.

These four events this year will form the basis for the Victorian Kite Riders Series with each event contributing points to an overall series ranking and ultimately crowning a series Champion for each of the following categories:

Open Men
Open Women
Junior Men (Under 18)
Junior Women (Under 18)

As well as awards for:
Most improved riders; and
Tricks of the year.

There will be some great prizes for the Champions as wells as the honour of raising the Series Trophy for the first time.

Also on the calendar are the Australian Open Freestyle Championships to be held at Alva Beach, Queensland, and the Australian Wave National Championships being held at Warrnambool, dates to be confirmed - check the KBV web site (www.kbv.org.au).

This year will bring some exciting initiatives to the local competition as we build a series of events, working with kiting community and industry to make Victoria the place to ride.
