Anyone been down there?
Heading over for a week in Feb and wondering if i should take my kite stuff.
Chasing waves mainly.

I haven't kited there; but one thing to be aware of on King Island is that the beaches are pretty wild and rough (it has more shipwrecks that just about anywhere in the world) and often covered in huge mounds of really big thick kelp. I can just imagine your fins getting caught up in that! Beautiful place though and the locals were really friendly when I visited a few years back.

Defo take kite gear always windy and some great spots. Up north would be sick and narracoopa is wide open on the west coast. Just need to hunt for the best spot to suit conditions on the day

Too right RRB.
I just got back from a 5 day trip. had 3 wicked sessions and couldve had more if i wasnt
travelling with surfers.
Highly recommended.
Yellow rock beach on the west side gets protection from the two islands offshore so could
be wicked for flatwater. I was further up the coast at Phoques bay with nice 2-3ft waves.
Also kited Martha Lavinia in a strong easterly, awesome waves but the current runs too fast to keep up wind
so downwinders are the only option.
Was windy every day! Highly recommend having a look
