Four of us went down to Torquay today. Not much wind in Bells. Would avoid kiting there, the launches are sketchy. There is fabulous kiting around Danger Point with waves and flat water. Enjoy!

Not sure about kiting at Bells or any other popular surfing spots. You might get a surfboard jammed up your ass by an angry local

I kited Bells Beach West today, there is very little room to launch/land and the wind was gusty on the beach itself. Once out it was very easy to keep out of the surfers way as they were off the side where the waves were breaking, the beach was pretty much free of people except for the odd walkers by.

Overall, BB west is a fairly risky spot if your going to be self launch/landing, there is very little room for mistakes. Once out on the water its ausome.

You are better off going to anglesea or fairhaven.. far more room and options for waves. The surfers have the break at bells well covered and if you are trying to kite in the pocket you could well end up as an earlier poster suggested. If you want really big waves there are a few good options just past cape otway.
