I have read a few articles regarding places to kiteboard and in what wind directions and ranges, but it seems not much has been said, instead just a rant on beginners going to these places...
Could everyone comment on what they think about local spots, new or the normal spots, and give it a review (best wind directions for that spot)
This is for everyone, not just beginners, that way everyone that comes on this forum can hear what is best at other spots they don't go to and if they want can pass on the info to other kiters/friends not on the forum.
Thanks

i think there is enough information here and online about this (best wind direction to kite, etc).. as for wind range thats really more about your knowledge of your equipment.
do a google search for victoria kitesurfing locations & peter kiteboarding for spots and reviews.
Go out and kite different conditions, preferably with a mate who isn't a noob, you will learn more about different conditions from experience than from reading anything online.

+1 for Peter's kiteboarding blog, but also check out e x t r e m e k i t e s. I personally try to avoid beaches with little to no beach for launching and landing, rocks, reefs or groins to be blown onto and also beaches which are frequented by bathers. Rarely do all beaches meet every one of these requirements, especially the latter during summers, so it's up to you to use good judgement to what is going to be the lesser of these evils relative to your skill level.
Also don't be lulled into a false sense of security if a spot seems busy -- as this doesn't necessarily make it safe. Brighton and Altona seem to continually demonstrate this. Just do a forum search for these spots, and you will see how others have come unstuck.
