According to one of the staff of the Brighton Baths cafe/restaurant a kiter was lofted from the beach across Beach Road into the houses beyond - the incident is reputed to have taken place approximately three weeks ago.

While this may be possible during one of the Westerly squalls (and even then clearing the powerlines etc etc is a major feat however involuntary) we have no other information at hand.

So, with no other information available and we are wondering how much truth there is in this report - not whether it happened but whether a kiter was involved or just a kite.

Unfortunately the staff member concerned was on leave when we tried to get more information so if anyone has substantiated (first-hand) information or can point us inthe right direction to some please let us know!!!!!!

Brighton Police do have a report made of a kiter headed towards some houses but when they investigated were unable to find a kiter, a kite or any damage to local homes.
Seems if the incident did take place that the kiter might have landed safely or that a kiter doing a spectacular jump might have been incorrectly judged as heading for trouble. As the police said: "there is no proof that it did or didnt happen"...

Anyone knowing any more is welcome to contribute...

KBV interest is in knowing the causes of these incidents so that we can document this as a caution to others. It is important to remember that this is an extreme sport and the wind is invisible and unforgiving especially in if kiters overestimate their skills and underestimate the conditions.

Mate, i'd keep your head down. Your sponsors arent gonna be hapy with your performance when they realise how much of a shurker you are . .

distance travelled 13.9 km / 426 total number of tricks = 1 trick every 32.6 metres!

Thats pretty lazy performance murf, nothing to be proud of (this is assuming all tricks are individual when no doubt some of them were combined).
What were you doing between tricks man - having lunch or something ?
