Hey!
My name is Ethan, 24 years old, and I'm from Israel,
I will arrive to Melbourne on the weekend,
and I am looking for some beginner kitesurf partners, to help each other improve and maybe share a beer after a nice session!
Marry Christmas and happy new year to everyone!!

Hi Ethan, Welcome to Melbourne and hope you like it here. Good time of year with most weeks having at least 3-4 decent kitable days.

Yup +1 for MKH. Dudes that run that always have a welcoming smile and good advice. Regular catch ups throughout the year.

Are you going to mainly be on the east or west side of the bay? Probably most of the MKH crew are east side but a lot make the trip over to Altona.

Make sure to take note of the restrictions on various kiting locations.

10m will be ok as long as you're a lightweight. Otherwise you'll want a larger board for lightish seabreezes.

Hey guys, Manuel here. I'm in the same boat Ethan, just finished my lessons and got some gear a week ago so well and truly a noob to the sport. I'm based on the east side of the bay (Mordialloc) and really keen to put that 10m kite up in the air. Wouldn't mind a few cold ones afterwards.

Will look into MKH as well. Thanks for the info guys.

Gday Masp

I have just finished Lesson 3. I'm in Seaford and keen to hit the water too.

Which locations work for you?

Hi Dave, preferably somewhere within a 30min drive from Mordy. I've only done it at St. Kilda and Rosebud, I'd be pretty happy anywhere in between.

Hi guys

This is Juan Pablo, another begginer :)

I am finishing my lessons and looking for my own gear. Any recommendation/experience? Where did you get your stuff? What did you get? How do you feel with the gear you got?

Cheers!

Hey there!

I also finished lessons recently and bought my gear - really excited to go out practicing out there.
I would not mind going with other beginners/intermediate people, and I think in general going out with a few people gives you extra motivation

I'd be keen to join if you already made a group or something - pls shoot me an email

Cheers!

Hi there!

I just finished up a few lessons and need to start practicing on my own, I go down to St.Kilda. Melbourne. I'm a little nervous to go on my own for the first time without know one looking out for me.

I'm trying to find beginners to practice with.

I don't have my own gear as yet but will rent it until I'm confident.

Kind regards,

Ashlee

All the usual beaches have lots of friendly locals. When I started I just rocked up and let people know I was learning and asked if they could keep an eye on me :)

Hi Giuditta,

Your best bet for meeting up with pretty much the whole Melbourne kiting scene is to join up with the Facebook Group "Melbourne Kiteboarding Hookup".

Lots of people get involved actively with the group, and you'll be able to find people to kite with and all related info regarding kiting in Melbourne.

St Kilda is like the main hub of kiting & kite school location (always has & always will be), and a great spot to first check out when you get here.

Cheers.

Hi Giuditta

Send me a PM when you get here and I can add you to a WhatsApp group with some local kiters that might help you out.

Another beginner here from carrum. Had 5 lessons and have my own gear. Would be good to have some other beginners to go out with to keep an eye on each other and push each other. As well as have a few beers afterwards :)
