Hi guys,
We are heading to Lakes Entrance this weekend. We are thinking about bringing our kite gears over.
Any recommendations wrt kiting spots there?
I guess there must be some nice flat water spot on the lakes. Any place where to comfortably launch our kites?
I could not find much info on the net. So far the only thing that I could dig up are the list of spots that are 'kitable':
Flat Water Newlands Arm SE
Paynesville Main Beach S
View St (Paynesville) N
Old School Site (Eagle Point) E
Tambo Bay SW
Metung W
Lake Tyers Boatramp SE
Anywhere that you would recommend for intermediate kiters?
And beginners [one of us just started kiting few weeks ago]?
Cheers,

I kited there once when I was there. Hired one of the putt-putt boats at lakes entrance and went to metung, then launched off a beach and got my girlfriend to drive the boat while I kited back (ended up packing down in the boat too). Good spots near paynesville if going on a specific kite mission.

I've been to Tambo bay twice and kited there once. It's a nice spot with some space to set up/launch. Both times I was the only kiter/person there. Also kited at Eagle point once. I reckon I would have struggled to find that spot if there weren't a couple of kiters there already.
I think most kiting happens at Paynesville - so if you're not comfortable kiting on your own I would recommend going there (not kited there myself).
near lakes entrance the channels are all a bit narrow and full of boats - so not so good.
