Does anyone know any instructors who teach during the Winter here in Victoria?
I know winds, cold etc,etc... However be a great time to learn ready for spring and summer.
Any contacts welcome in Torquay, Geelong and Melbourne area.
Cheers

Hey mate, reach out to the usual schools... perhaps steve at KSS Altona to see if they are doing lessons.
Basically, it's not just the cold that is the issue, it's a. the direction (typically northerlies) which means It's 100% the wrong direction for Melbourne and Torquay (it will blow you out to sea) and b. it's as volatile as a bast@rd. The volatility (gusting and changing directions) means in your typical 1hr lesson, you could go from being perfectly powered to being dangerously overpowered. There are other concerns like squalls.
If you were planning a winter retreat somewhere warm, i'd save my cash and try learning somewhere north.
I dare say you'll find someone to take your money, but it may put you off for good.
Good luck with it, whatever you do.

Winter is a great time to learn !
Yep, the water is colder but the beaches are quiet and the instructors will have all the time in the world for you. I'd much rather learn in Winter than Summer!
I started last August at Rosebud - perfect for West/North winds :)
Obviously Rosebud isn't near Torquay/Geelong although I did meet a guy last Winter taking the ferry over from Queenscliff for his lessons.
SHQ Rosebud (they have a place across the road from the kite spot) or GoKite.
