If you put your name and phone number on your board you can be contacted directly.
Lost and found unclaimed boards should be reported to the Water Police as they could be associated with a missing kiter.
And to re-iterate an earlier point made by Peter, one can use a enable based paint pen from Bunnings or similar to write your name on your board, and remove with Turps if/when you come to sell it.
www.bunnings.com.au/white-knight-5ml-white-grout-pen_p1565716I struggled to find these pens in Bunnings until I realised 'Grout Pens' are just enamel paint. Probably a good idea to put down a buddy you always kite with and a loved/liked-one that is more land based.
Don't let your wayward gear trigger an unnecessary search and rescue. It will put pressure on the kiting community and exposes life saving professionals to the inherent risks of their roles.
This is all said in good nature and is not meant to sound like a rant. Just better to prepare today for events for tomorrow.
