I lost my board late yesterday afternoon at Flinders at Big Left.

I got swamped by a wave and when I came up it was nowhere to be seen.

It should have washed up on the beach but I was a long way out and the wind and the current could have taken it towards Cape Schank and beyond. I searched the beach/rocks between Flinders and the Blowhole with no luck.

If you happen to come across an F-One Bamboo Fish in that area my name and number is on the tail.

Thanks

the beach !

Drive down to the lower carpark and set up on the beach.......... just be aware that the seaweed above the hightide line is hard and can be very sharp at points ...self launching and landing needs some care to avoid dragging or landing your kite on these bits.

At low tide you can go to the far end of the bottom car park and ride out between the reefs.

You can stop at the first bay in the car park and launch at the lagoon. If the tide is low you are stuck in the lagoon but some guys like that.

If the tide is higher you can ride out straight over the reef. It can be expensive if you get it wrong.

When I lost my board conditions were a bit ugly with swells coming in two directions and a solid cross shore wind. This is fairly normal at Big Left and a bit of a bugger.

You also need to be aware that the hang gliders land on the beach and give them a heap of room. They don't get a lot of choice when and where they have to land. They fly in similar wind ranges to a 12m kite so there is a fair chance they could be there when kiting is happening.

Some of the paragliders are riding speed wings now so they could also be flying in kiting conditions. They are a bit more manouverable and tend to land on the top of the cliff over towards Cyrils.

Oh no. Bummer chief. Don't like its chances on the rocks down there. Hope it turns up.
