grrrrrr

Lost my board north of Gnotuk today, I was about half way to Mordialloc Pier.

Cell number is on it. Box of beer in it for ya.

Any suggestions on where it would drift in? Mentone?
Maybe a lovely morning dog walker will give me a call.

Thanks

I had a bad experience and lost my board near the pier another dude came to the rescue on the kite and retrieved it for me, lucky! Since then man iv got a bodyboard leash and just strap it to my ankle. Worst!!! Feeling when you get to the point of saying goodbye to your board watching it float away!

Na, I wasn't that far out, it probably wouldn't make it around the pier unless it drifted out, I guess the rocks are a good chance. I saw your two whizzing around looked like you were having a blast.

I took the dog for a walk in the evening but no luck.

Is a bodyboard leash safe? I thought the general community was anti leash.

Spewin man..... Hopefully some honest person gives ya a buzz man!! Fingers crossed....
Where do u usually go kiting? Got another board? Hook up a kite with us?

Yeah man everyone's against leashes but f.ck it after coming close to loosing my board man I'd rather be leashed up. Like your only really gonna hurt yourself doin massive airs and having the board follow u down and smash u in the head. While leashed up just don't air. I Havnt had a bad experience.... Yet haha

No second board. I'm a bit if a noob, that was about my 10th ride. I usually ride at Gnotuk or make the journey to Rosebud.

I'll probably give it a week or so before I buy another board then I'd been keen to meet up for a ride sometime.

Cheers

Get rid of the leash mate !!

Even if you don't jump you can still come off your board will dig in and then as the kite pulls you the leash will load up energy and then come shooting towards you. Even if it doesn't hit you in the head it could still easily break your leg or arm.
If you really must use a leash ( there really is no reason to ) use a reel leash or similar.
Bodyboard leashes and surfboard leggies are like a giant shock cord and will recoil rapidly.

99.99% of kiters can't be wrong.

Took the dog for a lovely 6:30am walk along Aspendale beach.
Saw a lot of things in the distance that looked like my board, but no board.

Oh well, I guess it has gone to the place lost boards go.

Hey buddy, please get rid of your leash or get a helmet.
I didn't believe the hype either, till I had an overpowered experience, board dug in and hit me in the back of the head. Luckily I had a helmet on - it broke the helmet in half. I wouldn't be here today if I didn't have a helmet on.

A board is more replaceable than a head.

I have never had a car accident but I still wear a seat belt.
Please post the photos of your busted up face after it goes wrong so you can let everyone else know how stupid an idea a leach is, just saying

Sucks about the board, hopefully it'll still turn up!

As for the board leash....
Simple answer ;-)

Google "board leash injuries"

Then google "no board leash injuries"

Yeah, I wasn't planning on getting a leash. But I do think it is time boards came with GPS tracking devices.

Awesome - I got my board back, thanks to the lovely people of Aspendale.

And even better the wife got sick of me looking like a sad sack and told me to go ahead and book the trip to Fiji I was thinking about.

1 week of trade winds for me!
