djdojo, I am not really sure about the intricacies of how it works with facebook etc.... but I get sent an email to my nominated address ( through facebook ) along the lines of : Mako invites you to "sandy Point trip " "inverloch trip " then you either check the: attending box, not attending or undecided. I though it just worked automatically once you joined up.....meh computers

You may also need one of the admin guys at Mako to verify your joining etc....before you get updates.

If you contact either Saffer or Manicskier here on seabreeze through a pm explain the issue that you are having and they will probably be able to offer more advice on how to set it up.

Personally, I have only been on a few trips organised with Mako ( Inverloch last year , Cape Flattery QLD in September , and Sandy Point 2 weeks ago ) But its is well worth while joining as it always gives you options and they are a great bunch of people.

The facebook site is normally only used for MAKO trips away and photos. Most of the daily crap happens on the google group where there are mails every second day of people heading out to various spots for a session and catch ups for drinks. Its done that way because you can reply to mails once you're registered and it goes to everyone in the group.

Its generally whats used for the "Hi, I'm headed to altona this afternoon for a quick session, anyone want to join up" kind of messages.
