Kite Republic Schools Team Riders Ewan Jaspen and Lincoln Reeves have put up a great effort at Tannum Sands in this years Nationals.
Linc began with a tough draw up against the eventual winner and top 3 place getter in the open men's Michael Bell. Linc's clean Blind Judges, S-Bends and dangle passes weren't enough to take out Belly's technical and world class tricks.
Linc fought back well winning his way back into the draw before a hose popped off his kite mid heat leaving him swimming for shore with a deflated kite and out of contention.
On his new Naish Torch's Ewan dominated his heats with a great range of technical tricks and big megaloops he's been working hard on in St Kilda. He defeated a range of good riders on his way through to the final, not the least of which was Cabrinha rider Keahi De Aboitz in his semi final. Ewan's clean semi run included Double S-bends, Blind Judges on both tacks, S-bend to blind, Blind Judge Air Pass, and his signature megaloop, and was enough to bring him up against WA rider Michael Bell in the final.
Again Ewan rode well in the final but was beaten by Belly's clean 313, Slim and Kiteloop 3.
Congratulations to all of these riders for putting on a fantastic show!
Good Luck in the Freeride!!!
