Hello guys, I am Damien, 30yo french, soon in Melbourne, I've spent 7 months in WA which I really enjoyed for its beach, wind and easy going people. But, it's time for me to move as I want to see more of australia. I leave behind me friends and a lovely girl friend (so sad!!). So I'm a bit desorientated and I need a quick socialization. I enjoy spending time in pub after a good kite session or hard day work. My english is still not so good but it's improving. So if you feel please contact : 0405846126
PS : I worked as a baker here in Perth, so any tips in this topic would be welcome!!

if u wana try to get to know some kiters come to all the kite repbulic trips and nights. we had one last nite and about 40 kiters turned up! there are also lots of other french kiters in melbourne that kite around st kilda aswell.
go to kiterepublic.com.au to see dates of road trips and social nights etc.

stingers are just as deadly as drop bears in australia . Did you not see the pamphlets at the airport warning you of the dangers of stingers and dropbears ?

Australia's two most deadly animals

i shouldn't really reveal this knowledge, but for a fellow kiter i can bend the rules.

drop bears can generally be warded off by applying a thick layer of vegemite over your whole face. this is no guarantee of survival, it just makes the odds a bit better. drop bears are rare in the city though so if you stick to st.kilda you should be ok.

as for melbourne's stingers, there's no secret knowledge, in fact there's nothing you can do but hope and pray. an all year round menace for which there is neither prevention nor cure.

the worst thing are the stinging drop bears, basically they jump from trees to ambush their prey (you) and they have a stinger on their tail like a stingray, it paralyses you so that you're still alive when they eat you....... not a nice way to die.

Ok, cool, anything else to know? Sounds terrifying, I don't anderstand why the council doesn't do anything to avoid this plague, like cutting all the trees or distribute free vegemite to all the inhabitants. Does it work with Nutella? Look forward to seeing that!!!
