Hey newbie kiters

As mentioned in another thread, I'm not a pro-kiter or qualified instructor. I am however a huge kiting fan and get out most weekends. I also personally know some 40-odd kiters in Melbourne, so there's usually someone going out most windy days.

It's really important for your safety and other beach goers that you have some more experienced kiters around to lend a hand, provide a few tips and get you feeling confident on the water.

So, if you're freshly graduated from your lessons, just got your first set of gear and keen to have a few other kiters around, give me a message.

Cheers.

Isaac.

I should add: There is no commercial intent here. I have made awesome mates through kiting and I'm happy to help out any new kiters where I can.

Hi Mate,

Am a sort of newbie, have been kiting a few years but never get out enough in a season to progress like i would like, as i dont know any mates that kitesurf!
Im in black rock, but work in williamstown, so Mordialloc to Altona is perfect!

Thanks, Joel

Hey Joel

Yeah, I'm in Frankston so Carrum to Hampton works for me too. Would love the company and a spare set of eyes in the near future. Also a newbie but love the sport and keen to progress.

Altona is my favourite spot around Melbourne but extra care is required when launching and landing there. Anyway, like I said send me a PM if keen and I will let you know next time we're heading out.

This is a good idea and I hope new kiters take you up on this.

I've only kited in melbourne 4 times so far and 2 times at St Kilda I've seen people with zero kite skills launch themselves towards the road, not sure if they have done lessons or not but they definitely didn't understand how to use a kite. Someone is going over that wall into traffic soon!!!!

Much appreciated!

I'm about to get my first gear and I would love to have some friendly people to go out with! Living in Prahran so close to St Kilda, Brighton and all the beaches around here! :)

Watch the conditions on sunday if you head out guys. The wind is going to change directions and get quite strong in the arvo.
