Hi Guys
Does anyone know if there is much of a kitesurfing community down at Portland?
My girlfriend is on placement in the hospital for the next few weeks so i'm planning on heading down.
Does anyone know who i could get in contact with for a session or where i should be looking to go out?

im going to head out tomorrow in portland if anyone is around for a session (i doubt there will be but i have to try). Ill be heading out at Nuns beach (near the harbour) from about 10-11am, hope to see someone there

the sunday was awesome.... buuuuut i didnt kite because it was the only day my girlfriend had off so i thought i better be a good boy and do things with her. It was going to be windier on the monday anyway. On monday it was blowing 22-24kt with 30kt gusts and all i had was my 12m and a surfboard. I braved it for a while but gave up after about half an hour of getting dragged through the surf.
I did chat to a guy called Ben, one of the locals. Really cool guy, super nice and he said there is only about 3-4 local kiters so it never gets crowded. There are flat water and surf spots so if your there for longer then i was im sure u could scope all the good spots out.
Definately take a 9m or smaller though, it gets mighty windy down there
