Was tossing-up the idea of heading down to Inverloch on Sunday just gone, however the inland weather beacon at Pound Creek was only reading 15-19 knots, so I put it off and headed to St Kilda in the afternoon instead.

If you were down at Anderson Inlet on Sunday, could you give me a rough estimate to what the wind was like down at the beach? Obviously it's going to be somewhat windier closer to the coast; just curious how much more?

I was at Sandy Point on the weekend. I was well powered on a 10 every day.

I had to pick my spot. Too far up in the bay and it was offshore and gusty.

I think Pound Creek is too far inland to be useful for kiting.

Pound Creek is here:

if pound creek is reading 15-19, the kite spot further down close to the mouth will be 20 knots, average, gusting to about 22

Hit the water around midday and spent a couple of hours on the water at Inverloch. Great session in the end, as it moved from pretty light 17 ish knots to low to mid 20s towards the end. most people dropped down a kite size just before I left the wateraroud 2 ish.

Yes I got there at 11am. Started with my 12m (wind was slightly less than 20knt) and around 2pm I went down one size to a 10m. It never came up higher than 26/27 knts.

damn it, sounded like it turned out to be a good day down there. Hopefully we wont have to leave the confines of the bay this w/end with some nice westerlies forecasted.

It will be well worth popping outside the bay this weekend if you can, as there is a solid solid groundswell on the way.....+ 20knts =
