Thought about to escape family 2morrow early for a morning kitesession in Rosebud - probably 830 on the water. Do u think it will be too crowded with non-kiters?
Anybody interested to join, hv space for 1 more, text me at 0447393366? Depart from bayside Sandringham.
Cheers, Oliver

you'll be right. weekend crowds don't arrive until late morning/midday. there'll be plenty of kiters tho. would grab a lift but have car full of gear

How was rosebud today?

I was down that area yesterday and it was really busy so decided against the drive today.

Spectacular, had a few hours there this morning on my 8... lots of kites but easy to get a good patch further out.

I was on my 6 meter all day. Lots of people and kites everywhere. Very bumpy, very gusty, warm water, warm wind = good.

I thought wind was pretty steady. Was bit bumpy (high tide) but there were some nice waves over the sandbars. I was on 7m and a surfboard from about 9am till 1pm. Awesome session, apart from all the beach goers. I kite couple of kms towards Rye from the main car park and it was hard to find enough beach to self land.

awesome session one of the best fully lit on a 7m + old surfboard from 9-12. waves were average but wind made up for it. covered 45km would have stayed out all day if I could. couldn't believe how many 12m kites there were, must have been over 30 knots a few times.

It was pretty magic - no wetsuit needed. South channel shows 25-30kts between noon and 5pm (when I was out) so probably 20-25kts at rye.

I was on my 10m (I'm ~88kg) all day and was plenty powered for pretty much all of it. Trimmed a little at a few points.

Some decent waves out back and left.

Crazy crowds of non kiters in the water, but just go further out.

More days like this one please...

funny watching that canoe trying to get out, there was also guy swimming in the back waves seemingly unaware of kiters going past close

I was at rosebud from 9 till 12 ,started on my 10 but lacked power, changed to my 12 (I'm 102kg) and had a great session! I couldn't even be angry at the guy who dropped his nice new kite in front on me while I was going flat out,I near burst thru the otherside of his kite,my board was even tangled up in his lines.
It really is a dream kiting at rosebud on days like today.
