Just received today at 5:39pm:

Congratulations to Natalie Clarke, who has successfully crossed Bass Strait today in around 10 hours. Nat landed in Venus Bay around 1 hour ago, is very tired and is currently on the boat to San Remo. Well done Nat, awesome effort!!

Great work Nat !

Bit surprised at the extreme lack of coverage in the media - I haven't heard anything through any of the news channels. This is way more exciting than most of the rubbish that is getting aired.

Latest (from Kitemag):

Natalie Clarke 37, has crossed Bass Strait and set a new world record.

She left Stanley on Monday at 6.30am in the dark with very light wind which eventually picked up. It enabled her to travel around 30 -35km per hour and she made the trip in 9.5 hours.

Natalie is the first kiteboarder to Cross Bass Strait Solo and the first female to attempt the crossing. Finishing in 10 hours and 20 minutes she also breaks a previously held record by James Weight and Ben Morrison Jack who made the crossing in late 2009 by nearly 2 hours.

“All my family had to hurry to drive down, I wasn’t expected to come in until dusk,” she said.

Natalie rode the last hour with a broken foot strap.

“It was the hardest thing I did all day,” she said.
Natalie has two kids Bailey and Maddy.

Natalie wants to provide more facilities to teach special needs kids (mostly Autistic to swim) Please visit the website to donate: www.swim4all.com.au
