That sucks. Spend time on ebay .com and .com.au and also gumtree. You might get lucky, happened in QLD recently. Stolen stuff from Brisbane ended up in FNQ on ebay.com (US site). Seabreeze busted him and went to court a week or two ago (see thread)

For anyone else reading this: Step away from the computer, Go now, get your kites and board(s) out, write down the serial numbers. Write your name/email address/reward$$ on your kites with nikko.

Great news! How were the kites located? Have the villians been apprehended?

Looks like we need to be careful about where we leave cars parked full of gear.

I'm curious Tim, how obvious/visible was the gear in the car?

I'm surprised the cops did find them, lucky you.

so you've waited long enough..

the car was parked on Whiteman St, Southbank. It was a Toyota Starlet, a tiny thing. You can't have gear in the car without it being highly visible.

the gear was found at house in Prahan, along with 500+ other stolen items. the police just called it to asked whether he had lost any kitesurfing gear lately. why yes he had. turns out my mate had his mobile number on his board.

we still haven't gotten our stuff back yet because they have to fingerprint EVERYTHING. the dude living at the house wasn't the thief. he was apparently a hoarder that swapped stolen **** for drugs. lame.

still no idea what happened to my 11m. i haven't seen it on ebay/gumtree etc... keep an eye out! (blue, has 2 awkward patches on the canopy).

so lessons learnt: don't leave gear (visible) in your car, put your name on your stuff.

Got the gear back this week. Everything was found except the 7m C4. Keep an eye out! :)

The cops also found my stolen car too. Big ups to the vic police!
