Kiteboarding and Stand Up Paddle surfing is being promoted as one of the main attractions at this year's St Kilda Festival, an event which attracts over 500,000 people to Kilda.

The event has also been printed in 100,000 copies in the official festival program.

The St Kilda Fest Showdown will include Week of the Wind - a week long celebration of water sports in Victoria's most iconic locations.

Kiteboarders and Stand Up Paddle boarders of all abilities are welcome to join in the fun at St Kilda Beach on Feb 12 and 13.

Over $5,000 in prizes are up for grabs; including a Katani electric skateboard, Coreban Stand up Paddle Board, a trip to Fiji, a Kahuna longboard and heaps more.

It all begins on Saturday February 12 at noon to determine the fastest surfer on water in the Coreban 3km and the SUPB sprint.

The action then moves to the air in the afternoon with the Katani Big Air, Kiter Republic Kiter X course race and Cabrinha Old School v New School.

Throughout the weekend, kiters and SUP paddlers who ride the most will be up for two awards the Stonker sickest move shootout and the SHQ Style awards.

Thousands of dollars worth of prizes are up for grabs for kiters and surfers of any ability. Get involved and come down to St Kilda for a slice of the action and the chance to win a prize.
