Made me laugh.

Same thing each year.

The above is extremely bold even of the local kite schools........ taking essentially ALL of the beach.

Of note - this entire area IS sanctioned as kiting by Parks Vic as a kiting area - hence the 5kt rule within 200m doesnt apply in this area (one of the small number of areas around the bay.)

Who actually posted the pic below (which school)?

The pier works have not returned St Kilda to its original state, heaps of rocks scattered through the sand, and because it's really shallow now there is a good chance of hitting them.

I really hope all the yachts move back over to other side soon, there is not much room at the moment.

Maybe KBV or somebody else who deals with the council like the school's could see if they can follow up on what's going on?

There seems a lot of lessons considering the size of the "wind sports zone"

Ps, 5knot rule does not apply for unhooked kiteloops..... So send it.

Not sure about that. says - reminder you need to stay clear of the Kite School launch and land zone. Not sure whether has ever been the agreement (and definitely not to cover 85% of the beach).

You know how I feel about St Kilda PollyK...

Best and only time to ride St Kilda is before 7:30am!

The yachts on the swing moorings are not moving. The re-location is permanent.

Guys,

This is just a guide so people know generally where to launch and land. As such not much should be read in to it nor should people get upset. We all know St Kilda is busy so we all should be able to agree we need some general guidelines. You should not need much room to launch if you are any good. I also believe the teaching should actually be designated learning rather than teaching.

Note there was talk that there would be fines by Parks VIC to enforce. This is BS so ignore.

Kiting in StKilda is weird. That no-go-zone is akin to Torquay surf shops saying that the front of the steps down on Bells Beach is a no-go-zone for non-students and trainers. Like WTF!? Seriously? I think it's more about the "shops/schools" protecting their turf more than anything. They really should be teaching elsewhere, not StKilda just because it's convinient.

Sure is, my mate has a decent cut on his foot to prove it. Just keeps getting better and better for StKilda!

I don't understand why we just don't spread up along the beach more. There is tonnes of room up towards the ports.

Its because everyone is chasing the flat water. Honestly I hardly ride at StKilda because its so crowded. I have had some awesome sessions there though!
