Hi guys

I broke my ankle (fibula) kitesurfing in Rosebud 2 weeks ago - landed quite hard on my foot in shallow water after loosing my balance in the air- and I wanted to say a big thank you to the 2 guys that rescued me!! You were amazing, thanks for everything! And sorry for ruining your sesh... didn't manage to get your names in the emergency, but thought you might read this post...
Won't be back in the water for a while unfortunately, I had surgery, 5 weeks in a cast then rehab for a few more weeks. Hopefully back for the summer season! Looking forward to it! Being stuck on my couch really sux!

Cheers
And A big THANKS to you 2. Really impressed by the solidarity in the kitesurfing community!

Hi Lily,

Glad to hear that you'll be back out on the water soon enough. I echo pgc's comments. Happy to help. Our sessions were fine. We both headed back out soon after. Sorry it took me a little while to notice you needed assistance.

God bless you Lily.

This got me thinking. Is there any international sign for Kiters along the lines of "I'm in distress, help!"?

Like an inverse divers' OK sign? Might be good if we had one.

Well done those who helped, and good to hear your OK after the surgery (ouch!).

The international signal for distress / assistance is one arm up OR one arm waving.

Okay, I hope not to need it, but if I do, and all I get is people waving back at me from the beach, I'm going to revisit the subject! ;-)
