I have no car but was wondering saffer can I go all the way from st kilda to altona and how long would it take on a twiny in a good wind? Many tacks to get there?
Straight line its 8 miles so travelling at 16 knots per hour will take approx 30 mins.
Need a southerly and make sure you can point high enough into the wind that you can get past Pt Gellibrand (Williamstown), othewise tacks will be required, significantly increasing the time taken.
Pretty boring trip apart from crossing the shipping channel, which can get the adrenalin pumping.
