For violation of the terms and conditions of this forum the previous post under this subject was removed as a Kiteboarding school operating out of West Beach St Kilda was explicitly made mentioned to, when they conducted lessons during high (30 knot) onshore winds.

Please if you are a beginner and are currently undertaking lessons at any of the schools in St Kilda or other parts of the country please use a level of prudence (before you go out) to what ideal kiteboarding conditions are: i.e 15-25 knots, cross shore or cross onshore breeze.

Don't waste your time, money and put your safety at jeopardy by being taken out in any other conditions such as onshore, offshore or sub 15 knots (unless you meet an ideal power to weight ratio) and certainly not out in conditions where the wind is literally blowing the sand off the beach.

steady on tenno - real people are involved here.

The post was removed for "complaining about a business". When a 1st post person comes along and bags out a business, in the past it's usually been someone unhappy with that business, looking to do them damage.

If the goal is to promote safety, then keep it that way. If anybody wants to complain about a business, then they should ring that business up, not create a kangaroo court here.

In the deleted topic, the "accused" business has already denied it, and the argument is on.

If you want real action, make some phone calls and talk to people to confirm the situation, and discuss it with them.

Complaints about a business/associations

When this occurs, the poster is usually quite fired up and emotional. Often the customer is now out to cause as much damage as possible to the business with the mission that they are "fully justified" (their words) and "simply stating facts" (their words) about the business/association.

This may be the case .. or not. There are many sides to any story. The point is that the Seabreeze forums are not the appropriate place to resolve the issue. Contact the business, or go to the appropriate legal/government authority and do it there.

Choose not to, and end up in hot water. As soon as you flame a business, you'll usually get supporters of the business come out in defence and question your behaviour and motives. People interested in the discussion will seek more information from you. It soon descends into an argument containing many and varied versions of the truth and everybody goes home unhappy.

It has never ended well for anybody.

The business is damaged, the poster now has a stigma in the forum community (and now can't deal with many shops because the shops know what will happen if they cross this customer - there business will get dragged through the mud.)

And of course, there's also the situation when the poster does not really have a complaint, but is simply a competitor or naive associate of a business who thinks the way to get more business is to degrade the competition.

A special note: This applies (and has been applied) to any business, not just businesses that sponsor the site.

As the last line suggests, the business that was targetted does not advertise here.

iRideWainman I have had to delete you last post in this thread as well.

You may want to re-read the forum rules, as it seems the last time you missed the section about not posting private messages / emails in public forums.

www.seabreeze.com.au/Members/Help/ForumRules.aspx

As Laurie suggested perhaps it would be better if you approached the school / instructors directly and engaged in a constructive discussion.
