Hi, About to head down to Fish Creek for a few days with my girlfriend and may get a chance to kite. Been to Sandy Point before, no worries but curious about Inverloch and possible launching spots and no-go zones on the Venus Bay side of the estuary. I'm happy to kite by myself in new places, but if there are local rules or things I should know about that aren't obvious, then I'll be glad to find out in advance.

Cheers, Brendan

And saturday looks like the easterly may be ok. If you're going to be down that way feel free to PM me and perhaps we can meet up for a session.

Hi B.

Have not been there myself but a colleague went for a weekend. he said there were plenty of kitesurfers down there and you should not be on your own. Someone should be there and help you out with the local "rules".

Cheers,
Eric

Drive into INverloch and head towards the caravan park (the one on the river/ estuary ) ( northern bank of river ) just before you get to the caravan park itself there is a carpark on the right hand side ( grassy area as well ) most times I have been there this is where we set up. THen kite out towards the sand banks.

If you are unlucky and get a northerly you can drive past Tarwin Lower around to venus bay ( i think that is what it is called ) and kite on the opposite side of the inlet to inverloch.....usually quite gusty but can be worth a shot. Drive through the little town ( general store and thats about it ) and continue along the road ( Lees Road ) as if you were driving to the end of the point, on the right hand side there is a road at the end of this road you can set up or if you like continue along Lees road to the Cape Liptrap NAtional Park and do a bit of a hike with gear.

Have a look at a map when reading the above and it should make sense, I hope
Good luck
