Desperate to update my kit now that I am about to move to Barwon Heads. Think I might purchase Ozone Reos as I am already flying 2007/2008 9m and 13 m Ozone Instints and will be kiting mostly in waves.

If anyone thinks there is a better wave kite out there please advise. As I weigh 85 kg is it better to go with a 8/10, 10/12m. I guess in an ideal world all 3. Other dilemma is should I wait until the 2012 bar is out which I believe will be in November 2011?

Any advise would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Wait for the 2012 Wainmans. They have a new 10.5m and a 7.5m which will be the money kites in the quiver. They're also updating the bar, to cater for the entry level rider. If you're doing the majority of your riding on a surfboard I wouldn't bother with anything bigger than a 10.5, judging by the wind range you get with their current 9m.

Like all things, don't buy 'till you demo; after all what djdojo and I like might be something completely different to what you like (unless you've already ridden a Wainman before).

Anyway, chat to Stonk in Torquay (03 52616077), he's the Australian distributor for Wainman and a ripper bloke who will be more than happy to help you out especially if you're a local.
